What a whirlwind it was trying to prepare this thing. Over the nearly two years it took me to compile these songs and produce them, I lived in England for a long while, I traveled to over 15 countries, I did a lot (A LOT) of theatre, I wrote a musical, I graduated college. Those are just the highlights. Currently I'm sitting in a coffee shop in the beginnings of my first professional job, surrounded by the mountains, and I keep thinking about how lucky I am right now. A lot of times lately I've been impatient with myself for putting off making this thing, but I'm realizing that it was for the best that I didn't just gather a bunch of my boring and mediocre songs into my third release. This thing right here, I'm so proud of. I took a new look at my songwriting and tried new things, and it took all of the learning I did during my dormancy to make it what it is. I had this gut feeling telling me that I hadn't written the words or feelings that I wanted to convey yet, and that I needed to find just a little bit more of myself in my music in order to tell the story I wanted to tell. Life is so good. So here it is. It was only a matter of time.
